News / 2023 Librarian and Archivist Salary Survey results released

The results of CAUT’s 2023 Librarian and Archivist Salary Survey have been released.

Highlights include the following:

  • A median salary of $106,672 across reporting associations. Salaries did not keep pace with inflation over a decade. When adjusted for inflation, median salaries saw a two per cent decrease.
  • Gender pay gaps persist, with men earning 6.2 per cent more at the median than women.
  • Seventy-two per cent of academic librarians and archivists identify as women.
