News / Charlottesville violence denounced

In a statement released last month, the American Association of University Professors has condemned the hatred and violence that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia following a gathering of white supremacists on the University of Virginia campus.

The statement also condemned the Trump administration for equivocating in the aftermath of the violence, and called on the President to do more. “We call on the Trump administration to use all of the forces at its disposal to bring to justice those involved in fomenting violence and terror. Further, we call on the President and his administration to denounce all attempts to equate nonviolent protests like Black Lives Matter with violent hate groups,” the AAUP said.
