News / CAUT welcomes changes to International Student Program

CAUT welcomed new federal measures to protect international students from fraud and exploitation.

Facing growing concerns about unethical recruitment practices, the Liberal government says new rules are needed to root out fraud and ensure a higher standard of treatment for international students. Among the new measures is a “recognized institution” framework intended to benefit designated learning institutions that “set a higher standard for services, support and outcomes for international students.”
