News / Federal election called for April 28

On March 23, a day before MPs were scheduled to return to Parliament, Prime Minister Mark Carney asked the Governor General to dissolve Parliament and call a federal election for April 28.

CAUT is encouraging members to join its Unlock Education campaign to call on the next government to invest in post-secondary education and research.

The campaign focuses on:

  • Freedom to think, teach and learn
  • Including new people and new perspectives
  • Universities and colleges we can rely on
